Day 2: Activity 1: Flying Solo
Today was another day of doing summer learning journey activities. Today was day 2 of doing other activities, today's activity was about Amelia Earhart and Jane Batten. We needed to make a DLO and compare and contrast the both of them. What they did was fly solo without anyone. Jane Batten was from New Zealand Rotorua and her first solo flight was, England to Australia. Amelia Earhart was an American solo flightier, she saw her first plane at the age of 10 years old. This DLO needed to be about there solo flights to go around the country. Amelia Earhart disappeared in July 2, 1937, and Jean Batten died 22 of November 1982. This was a great DLO to create and learning new facts about Amelia Earhart and Jane Batten.

Hi Milana, this is Mrs Collins from Manaiakalani and I'll be commenting on blogs over term break. Well done on posting and participating in the SLJ this year. I really like the venn diagram you have created about two awesome aviators - do you want to be a pilot when you leave school, or maybe a flight engineer? Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!
ReplyDeleteHello Miiana! This Venn Diagram looks fantastic, with the piles of information and attributed pictures of Jane Batten and Amelia Earhart. They may have their similarities, but definitely lived different lives. Although Jane Batten was from New Zealand I've never heard about her before, what about you? Nice work!
ReplyDeleteHi Miiana!
ReplyDeleteThis activity you did was great, Great job for staying active with the Summer Learning Journey! What was the hardest part of this activity?
Blog you later!
~ Florence
Hi Miiana,
ReplyDeleteI liked how you gave detailed information on when both aviators were born, their first flight and and their achievements. Would you want to become an aviator in the future?
