Maori

LI: To learn how to prounce fruits and vegtables in Maori.
This week for Maori Mrs Odie told us to do this DLO for Maori where there was places for it and that we had to put the words into the correct order. That was the first thing we had to do for maori. After that Mrs Odie will call us in small groups so that we could pronouce how to say vegtables and fruites in Maori. So when she called the table that I was sitting on and first she asked us what was our name that we had to say it in Maori and how Mrs Odie gave us our vegtable or fruit so when she gave it to us she said one apple for you and kept on saying it until she was finish. Then When Mrs Odie asked back for it she said it in Maori. After that she just asked us for our name and we told her and we just got back on with our DLO. I learnt how to pronounce the names of fruites and vegtables that she gave to us also we had to say it in Maori. How I learnt was to prounce the names of the vegtable or fruit and how to say give it back also in Maori too.

Kiwi Can

This week for Kiwi Can we played two games and we got a new topic and theme for Kiwi Can. When we got to Kiwi Can we got into 4 groups and Mrs Paige was talking to us about our new topic and theme and the topic and theme was Respect for our Envionment. After we talking about Respect for our Envionment Mr Matt told us what we were gonna play for our enerjizer and the enerjizer that we were gonna play was snake, how you play is one person is on there stomach and they have to try and get someone well there on the floor and if they get you your out and you have to be the tagger with them and the last person who's didn't get tagged is the winner we had to rounds of playing snake and everyone had fun playing the snake game. After we played Snake we got back down into 4 groups and we started talking about how can we respect our envionment. After we were talking about it we played tic tac toe with chairs, how you play is you get into groups of 5 and one group gets 6 students in there group. The group that I was with was Sulia, Sakina, Victoria, Florence, Alayah and I. After we got into groups we had to do a name for our group and Alayah came up with Islanders. After that every other group got there group name picked, the first group to battle was Islanders and the other group I dont remember there group name but it was Sandra, Liane and there group on the first round we won but on the second round we had with them they had one point and we had nothing and on the third round the Islanders group got kicked out of the game then the other group and the last to to win was the footballers. Later on we had more time to have a round of GKQ master after we played it.


10 words to describe the character

LI: To find the meanings of words you don't know and words to  describe the character.             
This week for Reading we had to do one of the follow up tasks. The follow up task I did for Deep Water Danger was 10 words to describe the character and 5 words that I don't know the meaning of. The first I did was make a google drawing, put in the picture of the character that I'm doing. After I did describing words to describe the charcter, after I did the 10 words I looked for 5 words in the book that I didn't know the meaning about the word. After that I went and showed Mr O my work so that he could give me some feedback on what I have to fix up. The book and the character that I was doing was Matt from Deep Water Danger. I learnt how to make a DLO about 10 words to describe Matt and 5 words that I don't know the meaning of.

CyberSmart Quiz


This week for Cybersmart we had to make a quiz about Safe Online Surfing and on it it talks about no sending personal information and other stuff that strangers that don't need to know your personal information. The first we had to go on was a game safe online surfing I went on it and I was playing games about not sending informations to strangers to talking to them or sending pictures or accecpting it. After that I did a quiz about the questions we had on the bored and make the answers.
I learnt how to make a quiz out of google forms and put in the questions so that everyone who looks at my work can do this and so that they could check there score for points they have. How I learnt was making a DLO about the quiz  that I was doing.

Basic Facts

This week I did Basic facts boxes for a Daily 6 activity on  the Must Do Task list. On this I first went to Addition and did it before I go do other basic facts maybe another time, Also I'm nearly finish with the Addition boxes and then I'm gonna finish off the other basic facts I need to finish. I learnt how to go back on it and learn some of my basic facts and do a blog post about this. How I learnt is by not giving up on my Addition boxes and trying my hardest to do the Addition Boxes also doing Basic Facts.



SSR Selfie

LI: To summeriase and retell a text.
This week for one of the Daily 6 tasks I did SSR Selfie. First I had to read my book for 15 minutes. After that I put the image of the book that I was reading. Then I did a summeriase what happened in the story, aslo the book that I had was reading had two stories in it and its on one book and the story that I had to read for 15 minutes was Stranger in the bay. After I did that I had to do a blog post about SSR Selfie. I learnt how to read a book for 15 minutes and summraise about the book that I was reading and the book that I was reading was Stranger in the bay its one book but it has two stories in it and the story that I read was Stranger in the Bay. How I learnt was to summeriase and retell the text of the story that I was reading.

Tense Verbs


LI: To identify verb tenses.
LI: To identify the verb tenses: past, future, and present continuous.
This week for writing we were talking about verb tenses. The verb tenses we were talking about was called simple past, present continuous, and simple future. We had to find verbs that we can find all 3 verb tenses. We had to create a DLO based on verb tenses. We had to list 20 verbs. We had to create videos and do images. We worked in partners to make a DLO and a video and my partner was Fau. The first thing we had to do was to make google slide and put Action words and on the videos Fau and I explained what action we were doing in a sentence. I learnt how to create a DLO and make a video for every verb on your google slide but for some of it we did photo's of the actions we were doing in the video.




Addition

LI: To make a Addition Poster.
This week for Maths I did one of the activites we did for Addition and every other week we also we have to do it until week 9 doing these blog posts to do. The first thing I did was go on the google sheet and put on my link to my poster so that Mr O could see what's on my poster and give me some feedback and tell what I did wrong on my poster. After I did that I did the addition part where I had to add up the numbers from the equation that I was doing was 376 + 483 equaled 859 when I finally found out the answer, also I explained how I found the answer, Also I had to use the place value house with do a stragey. When I got the answer I explained how I got the answer 859 for the question 376 plus 483 that equaled 859.


Trench Warfare

LI: To find information about trench warfare.
This week for Inquairy we had to find mroe information about Trench Warfare and put it in my own sentences and putting it in the 4 boxes. For this I was working with Sione T my partner for this DLO we did, Also there was 4 links we could go to and see information about Trench Warafare and videos of Trench Warfare. Also we did different informations about what's in the trench and other information about it also other causes that happen to the soliders. I learnt how to find information about Trench warfare and put it into my own sentence's. How I learnt was to use the four links to find information about Trenchs and videos and other stuff that's in the trench.

Maori


LI: To learn how to pronounce words in Maori.
This week for Maori Mrs Odie told us to watch a video on the tv about rangi and papa. After that Mr Odie said that we have to make a poster on how to pronounce words in Maori, Also we had to get into partners and my partner was Sulia and we had to make a poster and put in cake, biscute, pie and donut, but we couldn't have anything in english on this poster but only Maori and the Maori words for it is Keke, Tuhinga, Piro, Pihikete. For this DLO we had to have nothing on it that has english in it just Maori so for the word that I did was I had to search it up on the maori dictionary and see if I got the right word and that I have pronounced it probably. I learnt how to get a partner and do this DLO with 4 pictures and the Maori words for it.


Kiwi Can

LI: To respect our community.
This week for Kiwi Can we played two games and recaped on what we were learning about. The first thing we did was we had to sit into 4 groups and recap about the topic and theme, the topic and theme was respect for our community, What we were talking about when we were in our 4 lines. After that we got into our enerjizer and it was called safe your legs, how you play that game is you have to get into a circle and there's a ball in the middle and someone has to try and hit the ball to go between your feet and then your out of the game. After we played that we got into our 4 lines, to recap on what  we were talking about before we played safe your legs. After we recaped on respect for our community and talking about it we played hand soccer for our activity, how you play hand soccer is you have to get into groups one group from one side and someone from another side, after that Mr Matt calls any number and our team has to go to the other side of the wall and try and hitting the ball with our hand to the other side to get a piont for our team. Later On after we played that game we had more time to play a game and what we did was we played GKQ.

Asking 5 questions

This week  for  reading I did one of the follow up tasks for the book that I'm reading and its called Deep Water Danger. The book that I was reading first was Stranger in the bay and now I'm up to reading Deep water danger which has two stories in one book. These questions are not in the book I just typed it on this DLO, Also some of the questions are not from the book. First I had to get the characters from the book and ask 5 questions to them that's not from the book. I made a google slide DLO and the characters I got was Barry, Mother, Matt and Dad these's are the charcters from chapter one and two from Deep Water Danger. I learnt how to make a DLO and make my own questions to ask the characters in the book that I'm reading. How I learn was to ask five questions to each characters from chapter one and chapter two.

Commenting

LI: To comment on someone's blog.
Today I comment on Angelica's blog post that she did for Writing. First I had to read the blurb and then I had to comment on her work. So after I read her blurb I comment on her work and said what I was going to type in and then I wrote Keep up the good work Angelica. So that's what I did but first I read it then I commented on her blog but first I did a greeting and then I started typing what I was gonna type. I learnt how to comment on other  students blog post and proof read it to myself.


Paikea


This week for Maori we had to make a DLO about Paikea. The first thing I had to do was search up some information about Paikea and put it on my DLO and links to websites with information about Paikea. Then I put on another link to another website then I blogged about my work for Maori. I learnt how to make a  DLO about Paikea and search information, pictures and links to websites by using Keywords to search it up. How I learnt was using keywords when I was gonna search something up on google.

Basic facts boxes

I learnt how to go back on it and learn some of my basic facts and do a blog post about this. How I learnt was by not giving this up and just keep on trying to find the answers to every subtraction box.

SSR Selfie

LI: To summarise and retell a text.
This week for a daily 6 activity I did SSR because it was on the LS1 must do task list. First I had to read my book. After I read my book I had to do a summeriase about the book that I was reading and the boo that I was reading was called Stan Stinky he's a sewer hero. I learnt how to read my book and then summeriase about it.

Author Study


LI: To learn about Dr Suess.
This week as a class we did Author Study on Dr Suess. The first thing I had to do was a make a copy of this Author Study and we had to search up main informations about Dr Suess using Keywords to search it up, Also we had to attribute the images for the 4 boxes. After I did that I had to look up some of the informations and the map to where he was born. Later on I had to look for 4 photos to put in the 4 boxes and attrubute the images I found that had to be attributed. I learnt how to look up information about Dr Suess by using Keywords to search up the main informations I need. How I learnt was to use Keywords to search up the information that I need to put on my DLO.

Mounted Art work

LI: To melt our final Quatifoils.
This week for Inquiry we were still focusing on the 3 quatifiols to finish it and melt it onto a white paper and put it on the table. The first thing I had to do was only do my pastle quatifoil for Amerstice and the big and small quatifiol was the christmas theme and the big one was for the Max Gimblett design. Then when Mr O printed my silhouette and then I had to trace around it and then colour it back then I cutted out my pastel. After I did that I had to do my writing to put on the white paper, after I did that Florence read it to hereself and then gave it back to me and I showed Mr O then I told him to print it out and I went and grabbed it from the school office and my writing size was 18 by 18. When I came back Florence helped me do my layout. After we did my Lay out I first put my writing glued on then did my pastel on then I did my painting and the christmas theme quatifoil. After I did all of that I had  to go and put it on the top park of the benchs then I went and helped my brother to do his melted art work on the white picece of paper. I enjoyed doing this art work.

Different types of Rhymes


LI: To learn about rhyme using Dr Suess Books.
This week we did Different types of Rhymes using Dr Suess books, we did this as a class well some other students went touch rugby. First we had to get into partners and we had to get someone from  Mr O's writing group and someone from Mr Wongs writing groups because of that we didn't have a partner and then it had to be Alice, Liane and I who had to be partners because were in Mr Wongs writing groups. Then Mr Wong gave us a Poem that had Rhyming in it and we had to look for End Rhyme, Alliteration, Assonance and Consonance. After we did that we had to make a DLO about different types of Rhyme also we had to do a example using Dr Suess books. Also on our DLO it tells you What is a End Ryhme and other stuff too. I learnt how to make a DLO about different types of Rhmyes using Dr Suess books, And on some of the slides we did the meanings of what they are.

Kiwi Can

LI: To learn how to respect our community.
This week for Kiwi Can we played two games and we also talked about Respect for Our Community. The first thing we did was we had to recap what was our topic and theme and the theme and topic was Respect for Our Community. After we talked about it we got into our enerjizer and the game that we were playing was Remote Control, How you play remote control is Mr Matt says the 4 commands and if he says something else then your out, The commands were Play, Rewind, Pause and fast forward we had to  practise round before we had the real round. After we played a few rounds the other command was when Mr Matt says stop you have to lay down as quick. After that we had to sit back into 4 lines and recap what we were just talking about. Later on we played Touch outside and  we were in 2 teams and Mr Matt called different numbers.

Quatrefoils


LI: To learn about Max Gimblett and to make quatrefoils digitally. This week we learnt about Max Gimblett. First we got into partners. My partner was Sakina. Then we had to go onto a slide. For the slide we had to write down when Max Gimblett was born, when he grew up, where his art was displayed, what happened in 2015 and what happened in 2016. Then we had to write down the definition of quatrefoil, why Max uses this design and we had to include 6 images. After that we had to write down what was the installation of Art of Remembrance. We also had to include a image and a video of the Art of Remembrance. Once we did that we had to design three quatrefoils. One had to be Max Gimblett's work, the Armistice day and Christmas.

Recount


LI: To evaluate writing samples unsing the PBS Writing Rubric.
This week for writing we had to fix up our recount by evaluating it using Structure and Lauguage from the PBS Writing Rubric. First we had to get our chrome books and open up our  recount. Then Mr Wong was checking Bella's work and was looking for Past Tense words and first person in her recount. After he did that we all had to do the same thing using Structure and Lauguage and looking for sentences that have past tenese for first person in it. After we did that we had to give our chrome books to someone else to read it and find the mistakes in it and they had to rate us on R1, R2, R3, R4. I gave my chrome book to Kaitlyn and Kaityln gave her chrome book to me  so that I could read her  recount and that I could read hers.I think that I'm a R3 or R2 for Structure and Lauguage because we only need to do Structure and Lauguage, Then she gave my chromebook back. I learnt how to fix up my recount using Structure and Lauguage to fix my recount to be a better recount for the reader.




Boxing


LI: To learns the new punches and other punches.
This week for Kiwi Sport we had our second session with Pax for boxing. When we went to the school hall we had to sit down on the floor and wait for Pax to come and recap what we were doing with our first session. After we recaped everything we had to get our gloves and boxing gloves and put it on in 90 seconds we all did a great job because no one was still doing there gloves. Then she asked us to get into a circle when we got into a circle and then she asked who wasn’t here for the lesson from last week. After we did that she said get into partners and number who is gonna is number one for number two. I was with Angelica and I she was number one and I was number two. Then Pax said we have to sit down. Then we stand back up and she said today we're gonna learn new punches and other stuff. Then we said we’re gonna start with the new punch lift your left hand and partner one has to punch it but not that hard. Then Angelica did it to me with her left hand and her right hand, And then it was my turn to do it to Angelica after we both did it we were starting to learn the hook punch and the upper cut. After Pax taught us how to do the upper cut and the hook we had to do it all together while she comes with the gloves and we could punch it with hook first, and then Pax told us to do the upper cut while shes coming to us. And then she said well I’ll see you guys next week for another session of boxing and then we had to put our gloves back and go wash our hands then we said bye Pax and went back to class.

Fraction Problems


LI: To create a Fraction Problem Slide. This week for Maths we had to make a fraction Problem slide. First we had to get into groups of 3 or 4, I was working with Florence, Victoria and I we had our own slides and we had to make up questions using the fractions 1/5, 1/4 and 1/3. My problem was there are 24 beans and 1/4 of them are taken by 6 students how many beans are left these questions are kinda from the gloss test. I created the problem for 1/4, Victoria created the problem for 1/3, and Florence created the problem for 1/3. On the slide 5 or slide 7 has the answers to all our fraction problems we did. I learnt how to make these fraction problems and working together to get this done also to solve the hard parts of the google slide. How I learnt was to slove the answer to my own fraction problem and get the answer and write it down on the bottom slide, but I need a little bit of help from my group to get the answer for my fraction problem.
