Mana Whenua

This is another inquiry I continued to try and finish off, but the one I already posted was from yesterday but I forgot to blog it, but this is today's inquiry I did. The best thing is that i've been enjoying doing this Mana Whenua activities. It is what it is so this is another activity I did today for inquiry. I hope you enjoy this Mana Whenua activity.

Mana Whenua

This is another inquiry I did today was about Mana Whenua. I was learning something from here that was way different from what I learnt about which was papatuanuku. It is what is it, this was fun, I'm hoping for more fun work like this cause its fun learning about Mana Whenua.

Mana Whenua

This is my inquiry tasks that I have done today for Mana Whenua. I did 3 tasks today on a google presentation. This is what I got done and it was today's task for inquiry. This was fun to do and I kinda learnt something new from the video.

Ban or Keep Fireworks

Today Taheesha and I did a provocation DLO on should we ban or keep fireworks. We did a DLO based on this and what we did was yes, no, and our own opinion. In yes we said why we should ban fireworks because its bad for pets and for no is we wanted to keep fireworks , because it has been around for many many years. Also taking fireworks from out of no where kids might get angry and doing that from coming out of the blues is just not good. And for our opinion we did remember of Guy Fawkes and banning something thats really fun to do, so why ban something that has been around for those many many years. We enjoyed doing this DLO and having fun doing this with Taheesha.

Firework Saftey

This week since it was Guy Fawkes, we created a DLO about fireworks safety to show the room 2. For this DLO, I worked with Sakina, Taheesha and Eyaka. With the fireworks safety, we included 5 simple important  firework safety rules with some photos. After creating the DLO, we showed it to room 2 and room 4. One of the important rules while near fireworks, is to always keep away while a firework is lit. 

A want or a need | enterprise

This week for inquiry we did a research on enterprise and define what a want or need is about and added examples to it. I worked with Angela, Taheesha & I. We first needed to define what a want or a need was all about. After researching about it we added the definition to it and put 2 examples about a want or a need. On the other slides we had questions which were, how do we know or find out what other people want or need?, What is enterprise/an entrepreneur? that was the questions that we did for our DLO that needed to be answer. Our DLO is just based on enterprise and a want or a need. A need is when you need water, food, shelter, which are the most important things that could make a human being alive. A want is when I get older and I want to become a doctor or and artist since I enjoy art and helping people when I can. Sometimes something you want might not come true, and a need is something you really need in your life. 

Water filter DLO

These are what we did for inquiry last term. We did this by getting into groups and making the year 7's be leaders for there team. I was working with Nidhi, Jospeh, Chavda and I. We worked as a team to make a good water filter together. In this DLO it shows you pictures of what we did and how we could see what they turn out into. And in the text boxes it tells you what we did and us taking part in this.

Early Maori Enterprise

This week for inquiry we have been learning about enterprise and economics. We have been learning about the Maoris trading for food or items. We also need to write down notes about how the Maoris were trading for items, and how European and British people came and took there land and the Maoris having nothing. I was working with Taheesha, Sakina, Joel and I. We did these 5 sentences with symbols. We need to stomp our feet, tap , tap our hand onto our laps, and clap our hands 10 times to get 10 symbols of our 5 sentences. Maori were the first to exchange items. Maori traded with hapu and iwi. They also created markets of food. Whanau would also make kai-moana. Maori started exchanging years ago.

Stardome Trip

Yesterday Learning Space Two went on a trip to stardome. We went on a bus to get their, only half the class came on the trip. We had to be at school by 5:30 and the bus will be leaving at 5:45 and we would be back at school by 7:45. First we had to line up well Mrs Anderson says the roll to see who's coming and whos not coming on the trip. After Mrs Anderson did that we went onto the bus and the bus driver drove us to Stardome.

When we got to Stardome we walked inside in a straight line and meet Tobias. Tobias showed us where to go, we went into a room with lots of seats and when we looked up we could look at some of the planets and stars. When we went and got ours seats we had to look up to the sky. Tobias was talking to us about Saturn and Jupiter and how many moons it has and we asked him questions about the planets.

Then Tobias was talking about the stars and was talking to us about the constellations, scorpion, sagitarius and Maui's hook. While he was talking about Jupiter and Saturn one fact about those planets is saturn is a flattern ball, and jupiter has 79 moons. When we walked out of the room where we were watching the show, there were some activites like angry bird and other games that were their and we saw the first human-being go into space that was Major Yuri Gagarin, he was the first human being to orbit the earth. Also we saw sputnik 1, and Vostok 1, all of those were what we were learning about in Reading, because were learning about space.

We all had a great time at Stardome and seeing all the photos and writing about what's in space and the first human-being that orbit the earth that was Major Yuri Gagarin, and the animal Laika who went into space and sadly died because of what happened.

Day & Night

In the second block on monday we had a session of Inquairy. What we were doing was making a DLO about Day and Night. First thing we did with Mrs Anderson was we watch a video about how earth rotates and gets heat and light and when it gets dark on the other side of earth. We had to make our own DLO about day and night and write our own explanation to put onto our DLO. We had to make it ourselfs so that we could learn from what we did, also learn from what we did for inquairy while we were learning about space. What I learnt was there was a invisble line called the axis that's on earth and it rotates to day and night. I enjoyed what we did for our space learning and working with others through out the day.

WW1 Transport Ship

In the Morning block we did Inquiry and what we were learning about was WW1 transport Ship. We had to get information about the transport that the New Zealand Soilders went on to get to Europe. I was working with Jack, Joseph, Sakina, Ellenora and Alice. We all worked as a group to get the information down about the WW1 Trasnport ship that the New Zealand Soldiers went on to get to Europe. The interesting fact that I learnt about was Soldiers went to War to fight for their freedom also to fight for our country that were in.

What is A Leader

This week we've been learning about leadership. Miiana, Joel, Marieta, Alex, Villiami and I worked together to create a DLO on what a leader is, what goals we have as leaders this year, what responsibilities we have as leaders this year and what makes a good leader. For what makes a good leader we wrote things like: Someone who can step down and let others have a turn, someone who can take the initiative and someone who can learn from both their mistakes and successes.

Nelson Mandela

LI: To learn about peaceful protesters.
This week for LS1's inquiry we have been learning about protesters. The Protester that my group picked is Nelson Mandela. I chose Nelson Mandela because he made equal rights for the black africans. I worked on this with Fau and Sulia. We had to do it in front of the class to present what activist we did and we were doing research on Nelson Mandela. It was scary at first but then I got confident to speak to the whole class because we were number 12. Fau , Sulia and I we ahd to go on his biography and read some information about Nelson Mandea and find out some information so that we could put it on our slide also we had to make a quiz about Nelson Mandela and see who gets it correct or incorrect, also we had to get more information about Nelson Mandela, also how he became a peaceful protester. I learnt how to make a google slide share it to the people that was in my group and research and read information about Nelson Mandela.

This  week for inquiry we had to make a google slide about activest and the person that  my group was doing was Nelson Mandela. We had to look up information about Nelson Mandela on the website  called biography and we used that website to read some information about Nelson Mandela. Why we did the google doc was because we had to write down notes about Nelson Mandela before putting the informations just on the slide. Also we had to work in partners and my partner was Fau & Sulia we all worked together to research inforamation about Nelson Mandela also we had to read information because some of those information we look at because some of the information we put on the google doc might be the wrong answers. The goodest website I went on and read some information was biography I went onto that website and did Nelson Mandela and it came up with videos and information I had to read then make it in my own sentences on the notes google document. Trench Warfare

LI: To find information about trench warfare.

This week for Inquairy we had to find mroe information about Trench Warfare and put it in my own sentences and putting it in the 4 boxes. For this I was working with Sione T my partner for this DLO we did, Also there was 4 links we could go to and see information about Trench Warafare and videos of Trench Warfare. Also we did different informations about what's in the trench and other information about it also other causes that happen to the soliders. I learnt how to find information about Trench warfare and put it into my own sentence's. How I learnt was to use the four links to find information about Trenchs and videos and other stuff that's in the trench.

Mounted Art work

LI: To melt our final Quatifoils.
This week for Inquiry we were still focusing on the 3 quatifiols to finish it and melt it onto a white paper and put it on the table. The first thing I had to do was only do my pastle quatifoil for Amerstice and the big and small quatifiol was the christmas theme and the big one was for the Max Gimblett design. Then when Mr O printed my silhouette and then I had to trace around it and then colour it back then I cutted out my pastel. After I did that I had to do my writing to put on the white paper, after I did that Florence read it to hereself and then gave it back to me and I showed Mr O then I told him to print it out and I went and grabbed it from the school office and my writing size was 18 by 18. When I came back Florence helped me do my layout. After we did my Lay out I first put my writing glued on then did my pastel on then I did my painting and the christmas theme quatifoil. After I did all of that I had  to go and put it on the top park of the benchs then I went and helped my brother to do his melted art work on the white picece of paper. I enjoyed doing this art work.

Quatrefoils

LI: To learn about Max Gimblett and to make quatrefoils digitally. This week we learnt about Max Gimblett. First we got into partners. My partner was Sakina. Then we had to go onto a slide. For the slide we had to write down when Max Gimblett was born, when he grew up, where his art was displayed, what happened in 2015 and what happened in 2016. Then we had to write down the definition of quatrefoil, why Max uses this design and we had to include 6 images. After that we had to write down what was the installation of Art of Remembrance. We also had to include a image and a video of the Art of Remembrance. Once we did that we had to design three quatrefoils. One had to be Max Gimblett's work, the Armistice day and Christmas.

WW1

This week for Inquiry we did the next activity and it was M. A. I. N for World War One. The first thing we had to do was watch 3 videos and do the Immediate Cause. M. A. I. N. stands for Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, Nationalism. I was working on M and I and Sione T was working on the A and N. I did  the Immediate Cause well Sione T was doing his part of this activity for slide 4 and I screenshoted the picture of the video one of the videos that I was watching and that they got shot and the video was about them getting shotted and other stuff. I learnt about new facts about the Immediate Cause and some new stuff also from the video that I watched.

World War 1 Interactive Notebook

This week for Inquiry we did the World War One and we had to do these two activites and complete it. For this activity I was working with SioneT and we both constrated on one thing to do first. So after we got into our partners we had to go into a group for the first round, I was with Acein, Jordon, Jayden, Jarome, SioneT and myself the first one we had to do was Leuge of Nations and then we had to serach it, so then when we were finish someone of each group has to say it, after Jayden said it we got back into our partners and do the rest of the defanations with our partners and we also had to finish of the time lines and there was a site to go onto it so that we could see the informations.

Tunnel's

This week for Inquiry we had to make a Tunnel. For this tunnel working I was working with Florence, Alayah, Liane and I. The materials we used to make this tunnel and make it stronger so that the car could fit in we used spaghetti, straws, rubber bands and tape. We all worked as a team to create the tunnel and we had to make sure that the Ferrari could fit in our tunnel before the person in it will die. First we had to plan how much of each material that were gonna use on a white board and show it to the teacher and take a photo well the teacher is getting our materials out. After that we had to make our tunnel with those materials and we had to make sure it was strong so Florence told us what to do so that we could move on and put the glad rap on. So when it was time for us to put our tunnel in the sand it go crushed and the car was just at the same place but it kind of survived.
