Aretha Franklin | Care Awards
For another care award I wanted to do Aretha Franklin Respect Song. First I made a google slide and put the song video onto the google slide and wrote down information about the Aretha Franklin Respect song. On another slide I wrote down the biography about Aretha Franlkin and used the 5 w's to do this. I enjoyed doing this because I went onto Youtube to look for this song and put it onto another slide and a text box next to it had information about Aretha Fralkin's respect song.

Commenting
Today I commented on LS1's blog post. First I had to go onto their website and look for 3 students I can comment on. The three students I choose was Sulia, Sione T, and Mote. Those were the three students I commented on for what kind of work they were doing. The comments that I did was put a greeting, said what they did good, after I did that, I commented what they need to work on next time if they do a DLO, or a recording. But I had fun reading their blurb and going through their blog post and commenting something for them.

Information Report
Today I wrote an information report about penguins. First we made a copy of the note taking and wrote
down information about what penguins eat, look like, and where they live. We finished off the note
taking before we wrote the information report. We made the notes beacause it would be the only thing we look
at when writing the information report. We then started to write down our information report using the
notes that we made.
Did you know that penguins live in the most coldest places around the country like Antarctica, Australia and others countries around the earth. Penguins can live upto 20 years. Penguins live in the cold places, because it makes them feel warm. They have a special type of oil that helps them preen their feathers.
Did you know that the appearance of a penguin is amazing. Their ear holes have feathers covering it. They also have short legs, and they have thick layers of fat. They have a white belly and a black back. They have a beak so when they eat they are able to use it. They can dive in the water 550 metres deep. Their weight is 2 to 25 kg, and their height is 1.3 meters tall.
Guess what! Penguins eat krill, fish, squid, crustaceans, cephalopods and other small ocean animals. Most interestingly penguins can’t taste their prey. They swim under the ice water and they catch their prey once at a time. The mother of the baby penguins goes and hunts for food. The mother Penguin hunts for 2 months looking for food while the father penguin is looking after the baby penguin. The father feeds the babies, while the mum brings a belly with food in it.
Penguins live in Africa, New Zealand, Australia and the north and south equator. The areas that penguins live in is snow places that are cold, icey, land, and snowy mountains. They also live in the forest of Tawaki in New Zealand.
Did you know that penguins spend their time up to 75% of their lives under water. Also another fact is penguins can’t cry, and did you know that they huddle in a circle to be protected and warm when it’s winter.

Stardome Trip
Yesterday Learning Space Two went on a trip to stardome. We went on a bus to get their, only half the class came on the trip. We had to be at school by 5:30 and the bus will be leaving at 5:45 and we would be back at school by 7:45. First we had to line up well Mrs Anderson says the roll to see who's coming and whos not coming on the trip. After Mrs Anderson did that we went onto the bus and the bus driver drove us to Stardome.
When we got to Stardome we walked inside in a straight line and meet Tobias. Tobias showed us where to go, we went into a room with lots of seats and when we looked up we could look at some of the planets and stars. When we went and got ours seats we had to look up to the sky. Tobias was talking to us about Saturn and Jupiter and how many moons it has and we asked him questions about the planets.
Then Tobias was talking about the stars and was talking to us about the constellations, scorpion, sagitarius and Maui's hook. While he was talking about Jupiter and Saturn one fact about those planets is saturn is a flattern ball, and jupiter has 79 moons. When we walked out of the room where we were watching the show, there were some activites like angry bird and other games that were their and we saw the first human-being go into space that was Major Yuri Gagarin, he was the first human being to orbit the earth. Also we saw sputnik 1, and Vostok 1, all of those were what we were learning about in Reading, because were learning about space.
We all had a great time at Stardome and seeing all the photos and writing about what's in space and the first human-being that orbit the earth that was Major Yuri Gagarin, and the animal Laika who went into space and sadly died because of what happened.

Day & Night
In the second block on monday we had a session of Inquairy. What we were doing was making a DLO about Day and Night. First thing we did with Mrs Anderson was we watch a video about how earth rotates and gets heat and light and when it gets dark on the other side of earth. We had to make our own DLO about day and night and write our own explanation to put onto our DLO. We had to make it ourselfs so that we could learn from what we did, also learn from what we did for inquairy while we were learning about space. What I learnt was there was a invisble line called the axis that's on earth and it rotates to day and night. I enjoyed what we did for our space learning and working with others through out the day.

Care Awards | Respect
For another Care Award I did one of the respect activites. The actvity I did was create a DLO showing respect using images I've been taking. The first thing I did was create a DLO and took 3 images of showing respect. After I took photo's I put text boxes next to the image and wrote down what I'm doing in the text box. The images that I took was photo's about showing respect. If you don't know what respect is respect means when your showing respect by no being mean to that person also trying to be kind, also respect might be like walking around them not going through them.

Technolgy Wood
In the first block Learning Space Two went to Tamaki Collage to do Tech with our teachers. The first thing we did was got onto the bus and the bus driver took us to Tamaki Collage. When we got to Tamaki Collage we had to get into our lines so that we don't go lost anywhere. Then the year 7's went to Mr Grundy's class, where you do wood work and other stuff with Mr Grundy. When we got to our class we had to our table and get on with our work, and ask if we need Mr Grundy to check if we needed help from him or put our name on white board. Today we were still continueing with our project and some of us were just finishing it off and doing our work sheet that were supposed to be doing while were waiting for our project to cool down from the glue or we might be doing that because were waiting for Mr Grundy. Today I had lots of fun at Technolgy Wood tech with Mr Grundy @ Tamaki Collage.

Gymnastics
This week for Kiwi Sport we did another lesson with steve from Eastern Suberbs. At the lesson that we were doing was we were leaning how to do front flip, and back flip. We had new things to try out well we were their, And for some of the things we did was the ones that we had from last week. First we played a lit bit of a warm up game, the warm up game was stuck in the mud, there was two taggers and steve told us what to do like hopping on one leg, skipping, and jumping on both feet. After we played the warm up game we had to get seprated in our groups that we were in from last week. In my group was Mele, Victoria, Julian, Giovanni, Marieta, and others that were in my group. What I found hard was the beam and the front flip. I also had fun doing these fun activites with steve in gymnastics.

Laika : A Summary
Today we used our skimming and scanning skills to find the information and detail we needed to write a summary. Skimming like a low flying plane. You look over the information once, (this should take about about 3 - 5 seconds). Scanning is like a helicopter, you find what it is looking for and then hover over until the information has been found. To practise these skills we created a DLO that summarises Laika's journey in Sputnik 2.

New Zealand Sign Language
This week Fiona came to panmure bridge school and came to learning space two and teached us about New Zealand Sign Language, and we learnt some new sign languages and we watch two videos of people showing us sign languages. For the DLO we had to make a DLO about New Zealand Sign Language and other facts about what we learnt about and that we had to write it down. We had lots of fun learning New Zealand Sign Language. What I learnt was how to do greetings and watch a video of a boy doing sign language in the wall of fame song, and some new greetings that Fiona was teaching us about New Zealand Sign Language.

Kiwi Can
For this term's topic and theme for Kiwi Can is Integrity and honestly. Honestly is when your telling the truth and not being scared or shy to tell your parents or caregivers what you did because it will just care less trouble but if you don't tell it will make you get into more trouble, Integrity means when you do something when no ones looking. The activity we played was role play and we had to get into groups of 4 and we had to show how we could show honest in our role play. What I found interasting was to learn was the meaning of integrity and honest. We had something to finish off our Kiwi Can session and what we did was play a game of GKQ but we played it a different way. Later on after we played GKQ Mrs Paige did the points and we got 49 points.
This photo shows it was important to have integrity when we got the wrong change of money and we gave back it back to the shop keppers and they gave us the right amount of change that was the role play for my group.

Tech
In the first block we went to Tamaki Collage to have Technolgy Wood with Mr Grundy @ Tamaki Collage. When we got there we had to get our wood and our paper work and some other tools that were need. A few minutes later everyone was getting a piece of paper and putting onto their paper work like Mr Grundy said, what we had to write on the work paper was we had to write down steps of how we did our design and what tools we used for this process. After a while we were getting ready to pack up our designs and put it away in the cupbored. What i found intereasting was the game we played at the end with the match and that I nearly done with my money box desgin.
