Kiwi Can
This week we got another lesson of Kiwi Can with Mrs Grace and Mr C Manu, our theme was positive relationship and we also got to play 2 fun games. First we got in and they talked about what we were learning about last week. After talking about that we played the first game which were Up and Down, this game was about one side to flip the cone down and the other team had to flip the cone upwards. This was a funny game to play and it was fun flipping over the cones and having to verse your friends or other people. After we played the energizer we talked about the game and if it was fun or not and then we did the catch phrase that Mr C Manu made up for us to learn. Later on Mr C Manu asked Karlos to be in his role play and then they tried and acted so that after they acted we could ask questions about how he could be changed. Nextly when Mr C Manu and Karlos finished acting and answered the questions we played a game called street fighting, for this game we had fight actions which were 5 actions which were 1 for one punch, 2 for 2 punches, 3 was kick, 4 was upper cut and spin and five lastly was air push, there were two different teams and the leaders were Mr C Manu and the other leader was Mrs Grace. We played that game for a few rounds and then got the finals and they played a round and then got to verse the other team and saw who was going to win and then we got the two last people. They had a round and the winner was Haylee from our team and the other team sadly lost but that was a fun game to play.

Pewter Casting
Today was another time at Tamaki College doing Pewter Casting with Mr Grundy. Everyone was just showing Mr Grundy our 16 images and we choose the one that we were going to do and then he would tell us the rules when someone is carving there shape everyone has to be 1 meter away from that person and only Mr Grundy could be close. I was changing some of the images because it wasn't really good enough to use and I just went up and searched different ones that I could find that has no holes in and thats a good picture that I could trace, if it wasn't a picture I could trace then I would need to change it to something easy instead of hard. Then I saw everyone tracing there images and going upto Mr Grundy so that we could help them a bit and then they will be tracing there pictures that they will want for there necklace to be looking like. But today was just fun looking for silhouette images and some others tracing there pictures.

Kupe and James Cook | Venn Diagram
This week I worked with my groups to make a venn diagram about the difference about Kupe and Captain James Cook and in the middle it had the same for both of them. I was working with my group and on the DLO, thats all the information we came up with to compare the both of them. Captain James Cook and Kupe have a difference for each of them and they both come for different countries from around the world. In this DLO we got more information for James Cook and less information for Kupe.

Summer Learning Journey
Last week friday we had the Summer Learning Journey cluster come to Panmure Bridge School to give out certificates and prizes to everyone who took part of the Summer Learning Journey from 2019 to 2020 over the summer holidays. First we had them come up and said thank you to everyone who participated in the Summer Learning Journey, and then showed us a video from 5 or 4 years ago. After that they came with the certificates and said everyone's names and went up and stood on the stage, then took pictures and then they called up the top 20 or 10 people who won there prizes. And then said the people that came first, second and third. And then everyone got to sit down while we finished off assembly. After we did assembly we stood as a school to take pictures and thanked everyone who did the Summer Learning Journey. The prizes we different for different who placed different in this. The people from the SLJ we proud because our school Panmure Bridge School has won 5 years in a row and that everyone was so happy about it. Then Mr Johnson was talking about how we did a good job and that nearly the school school got prizes or certificates for participating in this holiday activity.
Kiwi Can
Today we got another Kiwi Can lesson with Mrs Grace and Mr C Manu. First we came in and greeted them and then started with our energizer. The first game we played was the push up challenge. How to play we you get a buddy, after that you have a cone in the middle of you and your partner and someone tells you the magic word and if they don't say the magic word and you still touch the cone your out of the game and need to do a push up. We played a few rounds of that game and then sat down and talked about giving it a go and sharing your experience. After talking about giving it ago we played a game called 1v1 and you got a partner and the teacher will say do a dramatic crying for example or some type of action and when you turn around to your partner you show them by giving it a go. We played a few rounds then did the end of the road GKQ. GKQ is when the teacher asks questions and you have to answer quicker than the other person, and the team that won was the boys and sadly the girls lost, but we enjoyed playing that game.

Tech Reflection
Today we got another lesson at Tamaki College for Tech, with Mr Grundy for pewter casting. We were working on our work book. We needed to have 4 people with 4 ideas with what they liked. Its kinda like what we did last week with our work book. I did all the 16 silhouette images I needed and asked Mr Grundy to look at the images that I added onto my work book. Mr Grundy was just checking my images and some of the ideas I put down. After that I got the advice he told me and edited my work book and put proper silhouette images onto my DLO. Then helped my friends with some ideas of people that they were choosing and helped them with finding silhouette images and finding ones that Mr Grundy would do and help us with.

Summary
Te Tiriti o Waitangi is a very important time in New Zealand history. In 1860, representatives from the British Crown and Maori Chiefs signed a treaty of agreement, to let the Maori have ownership over their land and property. Partnership, Participation, and Protection were the underlining principles under the treaty. They got the treaty to be signed by over 500 Maori chiefs.
Haylee, Sakina, Victoria, Florence, Ellenora
This week for reading we were doing a summary about Te Tiriti o Waitangi. I was working with Haylee, Victoria, Florence, Ellenora, Sakina and I. We all worked collaborative. The words that were lighted were the six most important words that we used in the sentences, and wrote more information about what happened in the past days, when the British and Maori and everyone else signed the treaty of waitangi.

Tech Reflection
This week was our first session of tech with Mr Grundy. Today we looked at pewter casting to make jewelry. First we planned our designs and who our recipients were. Mr Grundy showed us the steps of creating our designs, so we could have a clear understanding on how we make it. There were a few designs we were thinking of making.

Kiwi Can
LI: To include and engage others by being sensitive to their feelings.
This week was our first session of Kiwi Can with Mrs Mac and Ms. Grace. The theme for this term was positive relationships, fairness, and Fairplay. We started with an energizer, called Change Places. For this activity, Ms Grace called out some things that we might like and if we liked it, we would change places with a different person. After we did our energizer, we talked about words related to empathy, which were courtesy, common sense, and consideration. Some examples to show courtesy with words are having manners, being kind, and being polite. Some other examples to show courtesy without words are hand gestures, facial expressions, and body language. To show common sense, you make wise choices and trust your instincts. Some ways to show consideration is thinking about others and how people may feel. Lastly, we talked about some ways to show empathy which are, being kind, supportive and being considerate. After that, we did an activity, where we acted out the positive or negative ways of showing empathy. In our group our play was about someone crying because she was bullied, so we decided to cheer her up.

Why Is Plastic Pollution A Problem For Our Coastlines?
Why is plastic pollution a problem for our coastlines?
Do you like seeing sea animals caught up in plastic every year? Well that's what will happen if we keep throwing away our plastic in the wrong places. The plastic that we throw on the streets make their way to the drain, then it leads to lakes, rivers, estuaries and the sea. If we don’t put our plastic in the rubbish it can harm many animals as they will think its food.
Did you know that over 4.8 and 12.7 million tonnes of plastic enters the ocean each year? That plastic can get tangled around the throats and stomachs of marine mammals and can harm them.
The more people fill the ocean with plastic, the less marine animals we’ll have. The generation of sea animals will be gone and the ocean will be filled with plastic rubbish. You can help stop this by collecting all the plastic you see laying around.
Plastic makes up 90% of the pollution on the ocean's surface so don't be lazy and drop your plastic. Do you want to be swimming in plastic?
Plastic takes over 450 YEARS based on what plastic it is. Did you know that there is 26.8 million tons of plastic in landfill? We need to recycle our plastic or you'll have plastic fish and chips for dinner.
Florence, Miiana, Ellenora,Leroy
This week for writing have been writing a explanation in groups. I was working with Florence, Leroy, Ellenora and I we all worked collaborative. Our explanation was why is plastic pollution a problem for our coastlines?. In our explanation we explained everything and used language features, which were, Present tense, simple, compound, and complex sentences, and many more. This was just a warm up before we have our tests and were gonna already know what to use in our explanation. My group and I did a really good job on this explanation and gave reasons why or we should be picking up plastic rubbish. A explanation a reason why or something should be the way it is. If you don't pick up plastic rubbish would you like plastic fish and chips for dinner?

Thinking Teams / Maths Questions
Today in maths, we worked in our thinking teams to find the answer to maths questions. In the photo you will see my group, "Less, Same, More", working out the number value of our group name. To do this we used addition strategies and our place value knowledge. In the second activity we worked as a group to put the population numbers in order, from the highest to lowest. To do this we used our place value knowledge.
