Maori
This week for Maori we did another fun lesson with Whare Odie. We used the poi to do some dancing with it. A poi is a ball with it inside or something and has a long string. We used the poi to do the e rona e dance with Whare Odie. We used our left and right hand to do some hand movements. We enjoyed doing this and having fun with the poi, and learning how to do movements with it. First we got a poi and stood in a circle and copied some movements that Whare Odie was teaching us to do with the poi. After doing some pretty simple movements with Whare Odie. We watched a video of St Josephs Girls Boreding School doing some dancing with the poi, we watched it and saw that one of the poi's were to fat to hold and it was just making so much mistakes with using the poi. After a few minutes watching that video, we stood back up and used the poi to dance to e rona e. We copied the movements and hand signs that Whare Odie was doing with the poi. On the half of the day we were learning tricks that were hard and easy to do. I had so much fun, learning how to use it and having fun doing movements with it and playing with it.
